Burley 1 Bramham 2

by Unknown - 08:11 on 17 February 2008

Bramham continued their climb up the Premier League with a fine away win at Burley.

On an awful pitch they were never in any trouble against a team who had put 6 past them at Freely Lane earlier in the season.

Smith and Dodsworth worked tirelesly in midfield and Milner had a fine game at left back with Maltby and Elliott rock solid at the heart of the Bramham defence.

They deservedly took the lead after half an hour with Smith heading in from close range and had it not been for the persistent raisng of the flag for offside the visitors could have ben out of sight by half time.

Burley were a shadow of the team that had impressed on their visit to Bramham and found themsleves 2 down on the hour mark.

Despite more possession in the second half it was still a surprise when they grabbed a goal back 5 minutes from time. In the dying stages of the game they had a penalty appeal turned aside, but in reality anything other than a Bramham win would have been unjust on the day.

Bramham played with a confidence of a team that has won 7 of its last 9 games and virtually dispelled any lingering relegation worries.
