Lloyd Ewen A Maltby Elliott Linyard Milner Carier Dodsworth Plews Firth Smith Subs Craven A trip up the A1 to play runaway leaders Thirsk looked a daunting prospect for rock botom Bramhma, especialy as Thirsk had won every game so far this campaign and crashed 13 passed Pannal just two weeks earlier on this ground. Tosh Maltby returning at the heart of the defence acompanied by the outstanding Elliott, were however to provide stubborn resistance as Bramham rallied to the cause, and in the end could have scraped the unikeliest of points. They hustled and bustled, hurried and scurried around Thirsk all afternoon, and never gave their host time to settle . For an hour the home side came up against a yellow and blue wall that they were unable to penetrate. Time and again they through men forward in waves, but there was no way through the disciplined ranks of cool heads and sharp minds as to a man the visitors focused on the job in hand. It took a speculative wind assisted shot from 35 yards to effectively seal the game, and althoug Thirsk went on to score a second in the closing stages, Bramham came close on several occassions, hitting a post in the dying minutes. What a revalation Bramham were, unrecognisable from the ragged bunch that slopped off at Bramhope the previous week. Perhaps there is hope, for with the committement and discipline shown today, they have a genuine chance of survival Add your comment Please note that whenever you submit something which may be publicly shown on a website you should take care not to make any statements which could be considered defamatory to any person or organisation. | ![]() |
