Bramham travelled to fellow strugglers Kirby Malzeard, in desperate need of some points but in the end sufferred another defeat, through failure to take chances at one end and failure to deal with set pieces at the other.

There was little between the two sides all afternoon but conceeding to a twice taken free kick on 20 minutes always left Bramham chasing the game. They went 2 down just after the interval when a nicely flighted corner went unchallenged allwoing Malzeard to head in from close range.

Huson then made a fine tacjle to thwart the advancing malzeard forwards only to see his clearance ricochet off  Elliot straight to the feet of the home striker who tapped in from 6 yards. This typified the luck Bramham have had for much of the season. When your down at the botom that always seems to be the way of things!

Maltby who had a fine game on his return to the first X1 pulled one back for Bramham with a back header following a corner. Earlier both Craven and Carrier had good chances but were unable to convert, both heading over from close range.

The scoreline was maybe a little harsh on Bramham, but they need to cut out some basic errors and make more of their chances when they come along.

It is still however a long time until next May and a couple of decent results will help a team inevitably low on confidence to turn the corner.

What was very apparent was a lack of steel which has so often typified Bramham teams, and without that the winter is going to be very very long.
