On 5 September 2012, Argyll Mausoleum Ltd announced that they had received funding awards totalling in excess of £1.0 million, which is the full amount required to complete the restoration and conservation required for the Mausoleum building and artefacts, and to open a visitor centre. Work is expected to start in early 2013 and the renovated building and visitor centre should be open to the public in early 2014.
