Thursday & Sunday afternoon Melee *
Melees run every dry (ish - we are quite hardy!) Thursday and Sunday. It is an informal gathering - play starts at 3pm
Everyone is welcome - beginners and old hands. We play at least 2 games, and 3 if the weather is fine: you can play all games or drop out after one as you prefer. Boules can be borrowed from the organisers if needed.
The melees will recommence on Thursday and Sunday at 3PM, in the spring of next year depending on the weather.
* WHAT IS A MELEE? - Boules is played as a team game and for most competitions you turn up with your ready-formed team. In a melee you turn up as an individual, and teams are formed by picking a coloured peg out of a bag. It means that in each round you will be playing with a different team mate - and against different opposition. Melees are ideal for people who want to learn the game, or for those who know how to play but want a friendly competition where they need to adapt their game each time they are put with a new team
