Thank you to Mr Stephen Lord of Uppermill in Lancashire who made Jackie, Liz and Hugh (plus Beardies) so welcome on a visit to see him with his three super working Beardies training in his home paddock.

Mr Lord is a quiet and talented handler who is dedicated to getting the best out of each dog, and we watched in fascination as each dog in turn showed us work of a very high standard with half a dozen very fast and wild sheep in the grassy hilly paddock where he trains.  In between we talked dogs and especially sheepdogs, and he was very patient as he answered our many questions, and allowed our three trainee sheepdogs to try their paws at strange sheep in a strange venue - we were happy to see them willing to do their best, though the flightiness of the sheep left them flummoxed at times!
