Diva and Jeannie enjoyed the novel experience of a close encounter of the woolly kind when I had the opportunity to assess them for herding instinct with the assistance of local sheepdog trainer Jackie Goulder.

Jeannie thought it was all a bit much, she isn't a very brave girl and those five sheep looked awfully big close up!  She kept a wary eye on them but stuck close to heel.

Diva was on her toes from the start, and quickly began to move the sheep around, hesitantly at first but growing in confidence as the session progressed, though always gentle with the little flock.

We hope to train her on more in the course of the summer.
