R.I.P. Shannon (16th Dec '93 - 3rd March '10)

We were so sorry to hear from Rosie and Steve that they had lost their beloved Shannon (Talraz Paddy's Pride for Lykath) - just a couple of short months after she celebrated her 16th birthday

Pictured above aged twelve with her younger friend Tilly (a litter sister to our Diva) Shannon was a strikingly attractive dark slate and white with good humour, intelligence, the loudest of barks and an enormous love of life!

In her younger days she was a great action dog taking part in any activity with zest and enthusiasm - whether showing, herding, agility, obedience or simply playtime with her favourite sticks and balls Shannon was tireless and very vocal at all times.  She especially loved to use her brain, enjoying nosework and tracking, and was once part of a team bringing a thousand head of sheep down from the Scotttish mountainsides.

She passed every level of the Bearded Collie Club working tests including the quite challenging Senior Test and in her prime was breathtaking as she soared over a six foot scale jump.

Shannon aged about two and a half, with some of her prizes

Latterly she took life at a slightly slower pace in her retirement home with Rosie and Steve, and became Rosie's most cherished companion. enoying her walks to the very end.

From Rosie's sad letter: " ....She was the most beautiful girl with a character and heart so big. She leaves a big space in our lives..."

Our condolences to Rosie and Steve.
