It was such a nice evening yesterday for Diva and Blaze visiting Pickering for their herding lesson.  Meg came along as well, and we met up with Border Collie pupils Sam and Floss and their respective families, plus Ruby's brown son also called Sam - Honey's brother.

To the great delight and interest of us all, but especially his enthusiastic owner/handler Fiona, Sam took to the herding straight away, and after some initial excited woofing showed us that he could circle freely in both directions, and sustain his concentration well despite numerous distractions in this novel situation.

We hope he will return to The Glebe for some more lessons over the summer as we think Fiona could have a lot of fun with him.

After the lessons we all enjoyed a group walk and the dogs galloped together to their hearts' content while their human families strolled and chatted.  It was great to see Harry and Elliot, keen youngsters who are getting involved in dog training activities, and who clearly love their dogs - the next generation of dog trainers!
