The snowy conditions continue, and though it makes travel difficult snow is certainly very beautiful, and the Beardies all love to be out in it.  They don't seem too bothered by the cold, and one blessing is that we aren't troubled by muddy paws when it's as cold as it is!

Our new trainee sheepdog Mirk is continuing to take his lessons, and still on a steep learning curve.  We are all impressed by his attitude.  Right now he is working on the Outrun, learning to give the sheep plenty of space as he gallops as fast as he can to the top of the flock.  He found this difficult at first, wanting to run straight to them, but under Jackie's expert and patient tuition he is developing abilities comparable with many Border Collies - and that's quite a compliment!
