Another successful "Introduction to Herding" weekend has been held at The Glebe.  Though mainly attended by Beardies and their owners we had a couple of other breeds represented - a Polish Lowland and a Pyrenean Sheepdog - plus a charming Springer x Border Collie called Maisie.

We worked on theory on the Saturday afternoon/evening 26th then on Sunday 27th on a glorious summer day the dogs and handlers got to meet the sheep, under supervision from our trainer Jackie. Many were meeting sheep for the first time, and it was fascinating to see their reactions.  Others were known to have an interest from previous visits, and these received training geared to their individual styles and temperaments, and we were able to watch as their training took shape, with several notable "breakthrough moments" - see photo for avid audience participation!
