Donald was born 7 Septmber 1912, the youngest son of Rev. James Alexander Corry Vully de Candole and Mary Paterson.
In 1945 he married (registered in Newmarket) Faith Mary Irene Bingley
They had three daughters and a son:-
Elizabeth Ann, born 9 April 1947 who was married on 17 August 1972 to Russell McClue, born 1 May 1943. They had four children:- Sarah-Jane McClue, born 28 April 1976; Matthew Alexander McClue, born 28 January 1979; Nicola Ann McClue, born 12 December 1980; and Mark Russell McClue, born 3 December 1986.
Rodney, born July 1949
Jocelyn, was born in 1951, marrid Wayne Martin Mitchell, born 1953, and they had three chidren:- Keren Georgina Mitchell, born 1982; Joanna Elizabeth Mitchell, born 1984; and Ngaire Rosalind Mitchell, born 1987
Rosalind Faith was born in 1959, she married Coenraad W.H.A.M. Coenen, born 1961. They had two sons:-
Alexander Wilhelm de Candole Coenen, born 1989
Jeremy Antonius de Candole Coenen, born 1992.

Donald emigrated to New Zealand, where he was Vicar of Waikanae, Wellington for many years - he built his own house there. He died there on 30 May 1982
