Servicing details
Engine
1. Change oil: 10 pints Classic 20/50. Clean gauze oil strainer in sump.
2. Oil can (Engine oil) to starter motor bearing.
3. Remove starter end cover & clean out dust, use the same procedure for the dynamo cleaning the Commutator and brushes with Methylated spirit or similar. Oil bearings sparingly.
4. Clean & gap contact breaker: .017” - .20”.
5. Clean & gap spark plugs: .020” - .025”. Renew every 10,000 miles. (Champion D16) Note 20hp long nose NGK BP5ES or NGK BP6ES plugs.

Don't over oil the dynamo but you may find the brush area very sticky with a fine film of oil so I am recommending that during normal servicing this area is flush out and cleaned with a good electrical contact cleaning spray and confirm the brushes are free to move in their guides. Note! If your dynamo has had self-lubricating bearings fitted there is no need to oil these.
20. Oil can to dynamo drive coupling.
21. Oil can sparingly to 2 oilers on Magneto. Do NOT over Oil.
22. Oil gun (Gear Oil EP 90) to front engine bearer. Screw down until oil exudes.

Universal Joint
37a. The quantity of oil in the joints should be checked every 2,000 miles. The only method of doing this is to turn the joint until the plug is at the top, remove the plug and inject oil by means of the oil gun through the lubricator until it commences to flow from the plug hole. This procedure will ensure that the casing is well filled with oil. Afterwards, the air release plugs must be carefully replaced.
'''It is of the utmost importance that no attempt should be made to inject oil with the gun without first removing the vent plugs as described.''' Such a course is likely seriously to damage the joint and impair its oil tightness. The driven portion of the forward joint is provided with serrations which engage similar serrations within the propeller shaft to permit the necessary degree of telescoping movement. The serrated members are packed with grease during erection and need no attention between overhauls of the chassis. In certain cases, however, a small plug, is provided, and this should be removed every 2,000 miles as directed and about one tablespoonful of gear oil EP90 injected with the syringe.

General Oiling
Rolls Royce Oil Gun. Engine oil or warm EP90
43. Check battery levels clean and grease posts (Vaseline)
44. Oil gun to O/S King Pin filler - 3 to 4 strokes slowly
45. Oil gun to rear axle filler on differential case slowly about 4 strokes
46. Oil gun to all road springs (nipples are on leather gaiters).
47. Oil/Grease 2 nipples on rear shackles.
48. Adjust brakes if necessary.
49. Release (not remove) drain plug on petrol tank, to drain any water/sediment.
50. Check clutch pedal free play.
51. Oil can to 8 brake jaws rear axle. 12 jaws on front/rear brake ropes. 4 ball joints on front brake pull rods (Underneath leather gaiters). 4 jaws Brake rod Servo. 4 coupling joints on Servo rods. 2 joints cross shaft on Servo. 2 jaws brake pedal to cross shaft. 2 jaws clutch pedal connection. 1 throttle pedal bearing. 2 jaws hand-brake to equaliser. 4 hand-brake pawl connections. 3 reverse catch of gear lever. 3 steering wheel boss controls. Some people recommend using spray can Colourless lubrication of the type use on modern motorcycles chains http://www.amazon.co.uk/white-grease/s?ie=UTF8&keywords=white%20grease&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Awhite%20grease&page=(Amazon) on the Rod/rope and clutch clevis pins as this product contains some solvent to aid creep in to the joints where it evaporates and makes the greasing agent cling rather permanently compared to engine oil, this same lubrication can be used on door and bonnet hinges. When finished check again there is always one you miss.
52. Wipe clean each oiling nipple and replace covers.
53. Oil can to all door hinges and locks.
54. Confirm operation of cooling system Grill.
55. Check operation of Magneto as per the operating Manuel
56. Check all lights, horn, Indicators and any ancillary equipment fitted. Confirm dynamo is charging to a maximum of about 8 amps.
57. Oil gun to all moving parts on the luggage rack and give your leather gaiters a dose of leather oil.
58. Now check your carry out tool kit has all the tools and spare parts you need to carry out with you replacing any use up during servicing.

Battery.
Top up distilled water as recommended in the handbook, clean the Battery terminals and cover in Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly).
I also suggest you remove each fuse and clean with spray contact cleaner.
I recommend fitting one of the Battery conditioners which will keep the battery fully charged and ready to go. - http://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-XS-0-8-12V-1-2A/dp/B004RADNCQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1427744617&sr=8-2&keywords=Battery+conditioner
Take it out for a road test getting the temperatures up to working level then re check oil levels and water levels
