Belhaven Bay

Belhaven Bay is located around 40 miles South of Edinburgh. A beach of natural beauty and part of John Muir Country Park. The sandy beach is just over 2 miles long and produces a variety of conditions depending on the swell size and wind direction.  It's a fairly safe beach which makes for a great place for people to learn and is the beach of choice for C2C Surf School for lessons.

This is my favourite beach, I love it and spend most of my time surfing here from Spring to Autumn. During the winter I tend to surf other local spots. On the busiest of days at Belhaven there can be as many as 100 people in the water, the majority of which are surfers. However, becasue it's such a long stretch of beach you can still easily find a peak to yourself

I am also Chair of Belhaven Surf Club and we use Belhaven for the majority of our Club meets, events and competitions.

Since I began surfing back in the summer of 2004 I have been lucky enough to compete in 3 competitions and be placed in them all - luck mostly.

3rd Place - Open men - Belhaven Bay annual competition - 2008
3rd Place - Longboarding - Belhaven Bay annual competition - 2008
3rd Place - Masters, over 35 - Belhaven Bay annual competition - 2006
2nd place - Intermediate men - C2C East Coast League 2005/06

Below is a few shots of me competing in 2008 and some general shots from 2006. Further pictures of Belhaven Bay can be seen in surfing scenes (note this sight is currently undergoing a review and new pictures will appear soon)
