In September ‘19 a gentleman contacted me through my website to let me know that this painting by my dad was coming up for auction.
He was attending the auction in Perth and very kindly offered to bid for it on my behalf.....I am so pleased that I now own this painting!

After picking up dad’s painting of Kirktown of Deskford, near Cullen (left) I was eager to take it to the spot where it was painted. (photo taken 13/09/19)
The house is uninhabited and a couple of local residents told me it is called “Dominie”.
According to historic records on the internet, it was built in the early 19th century and was a former parochial school.
I know by the style and size of the painting that it is one of my dad’s earlier works.....but wonder why he chose to paint it!....perhaps it was a commission?...... if anyone has any information please will you contact me.
