CANTERBURY TALES
CANTERBURY TALES
This tiled mural has been in the English department at Waid Academy since 1961.
A new school is being built at present.
The Canterbury Tales mural is going to be relocated by a team of volunteers and professional tradespeople within the sanctuary of St. Ayle Church in Cellardyke.
GOOD NEWS!
On a visit to Fife in August'17, I was a little sad to see the old Waid Academy demolished, but pleased to hear that the Canterbury Tales had been successfully removed from the English department before the bulldozer got its jaws into it!
I am sure that Margaret Thomson (Anderson) will also be very pleased, as she had a very large input into the creation of this work.

INFORMATION WANTED!!

I have a hazy memory as I was very young, of a mural in the Victoria Cafe/Bar in St. Andrews.

Last summer, while visiting Fife I made enquiries about it, but without success......it has probably been removed or painted over!!

I can remember it being created in panels, probably so that dad could transport it.I think there was a scene of a courting couple, to their wedding and progression of their life.

Would love to know if it is still surviving....or would anyone have a photo, even showing part of it?

Please get in touch via my CONTACT ME link...........Thanks, Andrea
