There are Two Gospels in the Bible
There are two evangels or gospels in the Bible. The first is the evangel of the kingdom, when Christ Jesus rules the world through Israel for 1,000 years, and the second is the evangel of the grace of God that Christ gave us through Paul for us today.
It caused me much confusion until the Lord revealed this to me, mainly through the Concordant Literal translations and the teachings on their site. https://www.concordant.org/about/
Paul tells us to look closely at what is being said to whom and in what context so that we can have a clearer understanding.
‘Endeavor to present yourself to God qualified, an unashamed worker, correctly cutting the word of truth.’ (2 Timothy 2:15).
Although, ‘All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for teaching, for exposure, for correction, for discipline in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16), almost everything (Old Testament, Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Hebrews, Revelation) apart from Paul’s teaching applies to Israel. Jesus came only to the lost sheep of Israel (Mathew 15:24). His and John the Baptist’s message to the Jews was, ‘Repent! for near is the kingdom of the heavens!’ (Mathew 3:2, 4;17). Jesus sent his disciples with the same message telling them not to enter villages of the gentiles but only speak to the lost sheep of Israel (Mathew 10:5-6).
Jesus and his disciples were announcing the good news of the kingdom of God, because it was imminent. If the Jewish nation had accepted Jesus at this time, He would have set up the Kingdom on earth, but they crucified Him. In Acts, beginning with Pentecost, the kingdom is offered a second time to the house of Israel, through Peter and the 11 apostles but is rejected again at the end of Acts when Paul closes the door of the kingdom.
‘Paul making one declaration, that, “Ideally the holy spirit speaks through Isaiah the prophet, to your fathers,
saying, ‘Go to this people and say, “In hearing, you will be hearing, and may by no means be understanding, And observing, you will be observing, and may by no means be perceiving,”
For stoutened is the heart of this people, And with their ears heavily they hear, And with their eyes they squint, Lest at some time they may be perceiving with their eyes, And with their ears should be hearing, And with their heart may be understanding, And should be turning about, And I shall be healing them.’
Let it be known to you, then, that to the nations was dispatched this salvation of God, and they will hear.’ (Acts 28:25-28)
God closed the door to the kingdom for Israel at this time but will resume His dealings with them at a future date, which is the 70th of Daniel's years. (I must point out that all of this was in accord with God’s will!)
The Bible is clear what is doctrine for Israel, the Bride of the Lamb and what is doctrine for those chosen by God, the Body of Christ. The inheritances for Israel & the Body of Christ are neither equal nor identical. Once you understand this, the Bible becomes so much clearer. Jesus isn’t always talking to us. Most of the time He’s talking to only Israel.
