Don Cheeseman

is a Canadian who now lives in Whitehorse,Yukon Territory, Canada - a slightly different climate from Zambia, where he spent the years 1970-1976.  He has been so kind as to allow some of his stories about that period and place to be posted here.  He wrote (on FaceBook, where these stories appeared) :-

The very sad truth is that they are all in a book that took 28 years to write and no one in the family was interested and I gave a copy to my sons who were not very approving of even sharing the many stories with anyone. Total cool interest including my wife. So just a year ago I started to just take the best bits of the big book apart and make small short stories on FB and the family is still not very interested, but many people like the short one pager not the 700 page book format so I give a bit at a time and look like I am writing very fast but I only have to adjust (spruce up) each bit to make it stand alone. I am up to 179 stories now.
