Dè tha Niall ris san latha a th' ann / latter-day occupations?
Os rud e gu bheil Niall ri obair eadar-theangachaidh, bidh e cuideachd a' dèanamh oidhearp air òrain a tha measail aig daoine a thionndadh gu Gàidhlig, gu tric is minig a' dèanamh seo do dhaoine a dh'iarras e.
As Niall is engaged in translation work, he also attempts to translate popular songs, often at someone's request.
Bidh na h-òrain sin ri fhaicinn an seo (faicibh an duilleag "Tionndadh") - tha mi an dòchas gun còrd iad ri daoine. Agus san earrann seo cuideachd tha dà òran Runrig ann an cruth nach fhacas a-riamh roimhe iad...
Those songs will appear here (please see the "Translation" page) - I hope they are enjoyed. And also in this section are two Runrig songs as never seen before...

Cnoc Ùdrathaid, mentioned in Niall's bookSealladh geamhraidh den chnoc chuimir seo / a winter glimpse of this shapely hill. Chaidh an dealbh seo a thogail pìos beag seachad air Baile a' Mhullaich / this picture was taken a little bit past Balavulich. | Ceasag a Tuath / North KessockSeo far an d' rinn mi an dàn beag, "Dòchas", a nochd nam inntinn à pliùm.. agus a nochd ann an "Gairm" gu math luath! Bu toil leam an dàn seo a bhith mar mheas is urram do Shìle Ghuinne, a thug sùil air a' ghramar san dàn an toiseach. N. Kessock, where I was instantly inspired to compose a Gaelic poem which subsequently appeared in print, in "Gairm". And my thanks to Sheila Gunn, who (if memory serves me well) first advised me on its grammar! |

Gaeilge Set In StoneFaclan na Gaeilge, snaighte maireannach. Irish Gaelic words, carved and everlasting. I took this picture in Galway, in a place near - as the stone informs - the Corrib River.
