Hinton St George, Somerset, the ancestral home of the Poulett family from 1229. During the Civil War they were ardent Royalists. Catherine Vere, Anne's sister, married John, 2nd Lord Poulett.

The Lord Poulett Arms, Hinton St George. The sign depicts the first Lord Poulett. The Church contains many tombs and effigies of the family.

The magnificent Hinton House, which would have been known to Catherine Vere. The King stayed here in 1625, on his way to view the Fleet at Plymouth.
