This was a place my mother has talked about for years, as she was taken there as a child by her father who knew mr wilson personally. And the 2 things she remembers the most, one of which I have never seen mentioned on any other blog sites, was that wilsons had a cigarette smoking gorilla called mary and that during ww2, most of the animals were evacuated out of the city, to anyone who would take them, from all accounts.
