Education and Skills Development Group (ESDEG) was founded in 2005 as an international charity and Public Limited Company by guarantee providing education services for public benefit in the UK and Horn of Africa. In UK our organisation provides education and training to socio-economically disadvantaged communities in UK i.e. Refugees, asylum seekers and other Black and Minority Ethnic communities. Since establishment ESDEG has helped over 400 disadvantaged young people in the UK. Through our excellent academic tuition services in key curriculum subjects of Maths English and Sciences and through our excellent mentoring, guidance and counselling services ESDEG has improved the school attainment, self esteem and social skills of about 400 young people aged between 8-18 in London Boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow. ESDEG has also supported and facilitated re-qualification programmes and work experience for 17 refugees and overseas trained teachers in UK.

In the wider context ESDEG has greatly contributed to the integration and adjustment of Somali Community in West London to their host communities and in terms of accessing to the main stream government services.

ESDEG is currently focusing to contribute to education and health sectors re-construction in Somalia and Somaliland. We have the necessary knowledge and expertise in both UK and Horn of Africa therefore we have the potential to facilitate lesson drawing, policy transfer and policy learning practices between the two contexts.
