It will be 25 years next Monday when my chess playing friend John Harradence had his fatal climbing accident.

In his memory I am holding a one-day rapid-play tournament this coming Saturday, the 20th.

John was born in 1950 in the Canning Town area so the Poplar venue is perfect for the commemoration!
