We had a very interesting talk this afterrnoon from Anne Fraser of the Highland Archive and Genealogy Service when she told us about research she is doing on schools in the area.  Her research is focused mainly on the south side of Loch Ness and drew heavily on her knowledge of Aldourie School, attended by five generations of her family.    However she had found a few details of early teachers at Fort Augustus to whet our appetites!  She is planning to publish a book in Occtober next year before starting on a companion book covering the schools on the north side of the loch!
