Still looking for work.
30 March 2019

It’s been a quiet time lately but I was advised to speak to a guy from the Salvation Army regarding funding to do a sage line 50 course.  It only takes a couple of days to complete online but the funding I know won’t be available to me.  I will speak to the guy at the Jobcentre but with my age and limited jobs from having the sage qualification it wouldn’t be viable for them to fund me.  The printer at the Charles St Jobcentre has been playing up for months and a month or so ago it wouldn’t print anything.  Instead of flashing up low toner it was now stating that the toner cartridge was empty.  The staff have told me for months that they would not replace the cartridge so I emailed my local MP Jo Stevens who represents Cardiff Central.  They told her that the printer was having problems because it worked through wi fi and that they had difficulty finding the right toner cartridge to replace the present one.  It appears that they now have a cartridge on order and they have moved the printer to a position where it works better.  I will have to enquire as I have recently been printing off my emails at Career Wales. I’m still on JSA and hopefully that won’t change for a while.  Last week I had trouble signing in to my yahoo email account and that was a bit of a worry as I use it to print off my emails confirming the jobs that I have applied for.  I even created a new email in outlook but managed to eventually get into my yahoo mail account.  If I had to use a new email account then I would have to upload a new CV with the new email address to all the jobsites.  I was also concerned that I wouldn’t be able to obtain the email confirmations of jobs applied for and that might cause me a bit of grief at the Jobcentre.

I will report back on here of any courses the Jobcentre put me on.
