Survival is what it is all about..
19 August 2017

Yes I’m still signing every fortnight and apart from having to attend a job club at the Charles St Jobcentre on one of my fortnightly signings it has been just signing over the last few months.  Of course I’m applying for many jobs every week and as I’m over sixty I guess they don’t have much to offer me.  I have completed loads of courses in the past and with my swollen glands in my neck still obvious to everyone I guess an employer would have second thoughts about taking me on anyway.  I have noticed how my mind has been slowly deteriorating over the last few months and recently I decided to do some exercises to improve it.   On a number of occasions I have forgotten how old I am and even what year it is.  That problem appears to have gone away but it did give me a fright, even worse than the swollen glands on my neck.   It just shows how important it is to keep your mind active and hopefully while I’m falling apart physically I can still keep my mind in reasonable condition.

So little to report but I will put on here any activities that I am put on but the options are slim.  I have completed all that the Jobcentre have made me do even though many of the courses were pointless.  I have also noticed how quiet it is in the Jobcentre whenever I sign.  The security guards are still around but don’t appear to be needed.  Maybe I’m just signing at a quiet time and have missed all the action.  Anyway it’s sensible to be polite and not cause any trouble as it never helps the claimant to cause any controversy.
