Another course to look forward to? 29 November 2016 On my last fortnightly signing my work coach put on my claimant commitment that I would contact Julie from Communities for Work by the next time I see her. I had to electronically sign it although I wasn’t given a copy of my claimant commitment or even allowed to see what had been typed on the computer. Imagine signing a document that you have not even been allowed to read but had to accept that what she was saying was what she actually typed. Anyway I contacted Julie and the only contact number was a mobile number so it eventually cost me over £2.50p of my phone credit. It was a half hour walk to the Salvatian Army building in Walker road in Cardiff. We had a chat for around forty five minutes and nothing new was mentioned. Julie thought that I was negative which I dispute but what surprised me were her comments regarding my efforts to work for Amazon. I did mention on here that Transline were doing the recruitment for Amazon and when I entered the room the lady working for Transline gave me forms to fill out without any mention of the actual job or if I could make it to the premises for the shifts using public transport. It appears that Julie believes that I should have signed all the documents giving all my personal details to Amazon and worry about the rest later. Whenever I apply for a job using the UJM website and the red button to apply it always warns people to never give personal information such as bank account details unless you have an offer of a job. Julie did mention that my work coach had mentioned to her that she might send me on a course at Cardiff ITEC for the long term unemployed and that probably will come about. I once did a course at Cardiff ITEC in 2003, it was a basic computer course but I noticed that they were falsifying the times on timesheets so I contacted the fraud investigators and signed a statement. I showed copies of my timesheets and immediately the investigator stated that he would investigate but I wouldn’t be told of the outcome of the investigation. It isn’t any surprise to me that they still have government contracts as at the time even my personal advisor in 2003 wasn’t concerned about it. If I do go to Cardiff ITEC I would expect that all the fraudsters who are still of working age will still be in the same jobs. I wonder if they will recognise me, it will be interesting to find out. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
