First update of the new year. 13 January 2016 I will very soon make a page just for my Tenovus experience to show how nasty they behaved along with Learn About. Although I said that Jason from Learn About knew the reason that Tenovus wanted to see me he kept it quiet and made sure that I signed the paperwork so they got paid for my twelve weeks of workfare. They suggested in the comments they made in an attempt to get me sanctioned that Jason told me not to continue making my comments online but in the car on the way back from the final appointment at Tenovus he didn’t say that and was happy for me to continue making comments online. It’s funny how they kept using my surname in the comments and it’s amazing to see how cold it makes the person come across. They suggested that I was keen to blog about my experiences but I didn’t make that many updates during my twelve weeks at Tenovus. Workfare is due to finish next year and it might be beneficial to volunteer for a couple of days a week at a charity to avoid too harsh a treatment from the DWP. They would treat a volunteer better than they do a workfare conscript. The work coach at the Charles St Jobcentre appears to be very good and he is hopeful of me finding work. It’s good to see some enthusiasm and hope although as I am fast approaching sixty it won’t be easy. At least I will be able to apply for a free bus pass and that could be very useful. I was told that Learn About won't have me back as they don't like people putting workfare experiences online. If they treated people decently they wouldn't have to worry as the comments would be positive but if they intend to treat people like dirt then clearly they would want to hide that. Looking back at my time at Tenovus I would say that the volunteers were okay but I can't say that I met a member of staff that I would trust. They all appeared to be target driven and I prefer people to be caring and honest. | ![]() |
