It appears Learn About want to get me sanctioned. 09 November 2015 This morning I received a phone call from Learn About informing me that they have ended my time on the CWP scheme and referred me back to the Jobcentre. I was also informed that I will be contacted by the Jobcentre decision making team to give my reasons why I should not be sanctioned. According to Learn About I lost my placement at Tenovus through misconduct. They are referring to my comments on this site so it appears that you can’t make comments about your experience on workfare. The reality is of course that no misconduct took place during my twelve weeks (336 hours) of hard work and only my complaint against being bullied on that one occasion is being used against me. I believe everyone has the right to complain if they are being bullied and if that is misconduct then the system has to be changed. I was one of the hardest workers during my placement at Tenovus and I didn’t even bother taking a break or any lunch breaks during my entire twelve weeks. I even stayed polite to the guy who bullied me and I even refrained from mentioning it to the other workers. I didn’t have any trust in Jason after his bare faced lies to me on Thursday and I was still prepared to treat him decently so I shouldn’t be surprised that his comments to me on the way back from that meeting were just more lies. He said that my benefit wouldn’t be affected and he would try and get me a new placement to complete my remaining time on CWP in the next week or two. The reality is that Learn About referred me back to the Jobcentre to face a possible sanction for doing nothing more than report being bullied at Tenovus. I am the victim and they are trying to hurt me even more. I have contacted my local Member of Parliament for Cardiff Central, Jo Stevens, and I have received a confirmation email so hopefully she will be able to give me some good advice. It’s hard to believe that Learn About could be so nasty to someone who has worked hard and never complained about anything other than one occasion of bullying. I would like to hear Andrew Cooksley, Managing Director of ACT Training who own Learn About explain the behaviour of his staff. Making money from workfare isn’t illegal but allowing his staff to treat the unemployed so badly can’t be justified but I would like to hear him explain their actions. ACT are a corporate friend of Tenovus according to the Tenovus website. The only thing that anyone can fault me on are my comments on this website regarding my experiences. Everything that I have stated on this website over the last four years are honest reflections of my experience. Whenever someone has treated me fairly or done their job efficiently I have mentioned it on here and whenever they are nasty and unfair I have also mentioned it on this website. I stand by every word that I have typed. If the unemployed are being told that they have lost the right to free speech and the truth while they are on any government programme then we have to reverse that policy. Sue Hayes, area manager for Tenovus made silly reasons why she ended my placement and they have resulted in a possible sanction for just voicing my complaint online. Fast approaching sixty years of age and my only crime is working hard and reporting a case of bullying and I could face severe hardship during the winter. I am hopeful that the Jobcentre team will see through the nonsense and in the meantime I will try and find a newspaper that will take my story. I will report on here any future developments. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
