The meeting at the Tenovus head office. 10 October 2015 After receiving a call informing me that I had to see Sue Hayes in Llanishen I went along to the shop in Whitchurch Road to do a bit of my workfare and was informed that Jason from Learn About would pick me up from the shop and take me to the Tenovus head office. In the car on the way to the meeting I told Jason that I thought it would be a bit of a nonsense and they would probably suggest it was a lack of communication and if I didn't accept that they would try and force me out. We arrived around 4pm and five minutes later we were taken to a room to discuss the complaint I had made against Lloyd. Sue was accompanied by a young assistant called Katie and all four of us sat around a table to discuss the complaint. The first thing Sue Hayes did was suggest that it was a lack of communication on Lloyds part and I immediately rejected that and we discussed the reasons why for a while. She then looked at Jason and suggested that maybe I would be better suited to a different placement more suitable to my skills. I again interrupted her suggesting that as I was the victim I shouldn't be the one moving on. I also stated that Lloyd should have been suspended on full pay until she had finished her investigation. I did find one thing amusing and that was Sue Hayes dropping her friendly approach and looking more like the hard nosed kind of person you would expect an area manager to be. She also informed me that Tenovus have only been trying out workfare in a handfull of shops. They have over sixty shops so they could take on quite a few workfare conscripts it the trial is successful. After all it is free labour and would save them money and of course they are paid for every one they take on workfare. After fifty minutes or so she suggested we take a break and Sue with her assistant Katie left the room. Around twenty minutes later they returned and we continued talking for a further ten to twelve minutes. Sue stated to me that my witness had used the word jovial in his statement regarding the way Lloyd had spoken to me on that saturday. I couldn't believe he would use that word to describe it as he had originally told me that he was surprised by the way Lloyd talked to me and thought it was ridicule. So I decided to ask for a copy of his statement and Sue Hayes told me that I could only receive a copy if the witness allowed it. I then left the room with Jason and decided to walk back home at a slow pace as I was thinking about what had happened at the meeting and I eventually got home around an hour later. Six days later on tuesday I emailed Sue Hayes requesting again a copy of the statement and a few hours later she emailed me a copy. The word jovial was nowhere to be seen so maybe it was the excuse Lloyd made on his statement. I am now considering my options, I noticed on the Tenovus website that one of the corporate supporters of Tenovus are ACT Learning. ACT Training own Learn About who send us on these workfare placements. I promised Sue Hayes that I would not go on any more websites regarding my complaint during the investigation. That investigation is now over but I'm a determined kind of person and for me this is not the end. I will have to consider my options very carefully and I will post on here any further actions I take. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
