I was due to attend Learn About in Newport for another jobsearch session when a couple of days earlier I received a text saying that I was to start at a charity shop in Cardiff the next day.   I arrived at one of the Tenovus shops and started my six months of workfare.  I'm into my fourth week of opening bags and sorting the clothes and other items that have been donated.  Of course I will endure it but in terms of learning anything it is a total waste of time.  Eventually everyone unemployed will have to go through the process of workfare unless a dramatic change occurs in government policy.   The last time I saw my work coach at the Jobcentre she said that she would put a note on my file stating that my fortnightly attendance will be for signing only.  The next time I attended for signing my work coach wasn't available and the guy who signed me went through all my jobsearch.  You just can't trust anyone these days and thankfully I kept my jobsearch up to date.
