Was it just a coincidence?
28 April 2015

On my previous signing my Work Coach told me that she would alter my Claimant Commitment to just five days a week jobsearch from the original seven as I don't now have the internet available to me at home.  At the time she said the printer was playing up so she couldn't print  me off a copy.  I remember that moments later she went to the printer to get me a letter informing me of the Jobseekers website session I had to attend and I did think it was odd that she couldn't also provide me a copy of my claimant commitment.  Anyway,  I arrived for  my fortnightly signing expecting to receive a new claimant commitment stating just five days a week jobsearch but instead I was called by a young guy at a desk in the corner who I remember signed me on one previous occasion.   He looked at my Work Plan booklet and my UJM  page as I had allowed access for the day and told me it was only going to be a quick signing today but it would be checked later.  I didn't say anything in response but I was just glad that I had been able to access the internet everyday and make a note in my activity log if I couldn't find a job to apply directly on UJM.  Imagine if I had not recorded something on UJM for the entire fortnight, it would  have been my word against my Work Coach regarding the reduced job search from seven to five days.   I will not mention it at my next meeting with my work coach, I will just wait and see if she gives me a new claimant commitment.  At least the experience has sharpened my mind again as I was getting a bit easy going.  It's important to stay friendly but always be on your guard.  I will report on here what happens next time.
