I know it was cold today, my ears are killing me. 29 January 2015 I went along to the Charles St Jobcentre for my fortnightly signing and it was a bit on the nippy side. I arrived five minutes early with my ears stinging and realised that I would have trouble speaking for a while until I warmed up. This time my name was called by my advisor a few minutes after my appointment time. She was very polite and friendly and scrolled through a few job vacancies on her computer. A company in Cwmbran have supposedly 300 vacancies with the lowest wage being 14k a year. It's a call centre and my advisor asked me if I was able to travel to Cwmbran to make the three different shifts that were on offer. Although I'm not a fan of call centres I said that I would look into it so she made me write in my Work Plan booklet that I would look online to see how I would get to the relevant industrial estate via public transport. She then gave me her email address so if I find that I can get to the employers offices I was to send her my CV for the vacancy. I was then allowed to complete my fortnightly signing and off I went into the light rain and wet snow that was falling. On a lighter note, as I entered my local Tesco metro store to buy some value items, a lady said out loud “look at that man” and a few laughs were heard and people started looking out of the window and talking about the snow. I probably had a load of wet snow on my head. No wonder I was freezing, maybe I should buy some ear muffs. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
