I went to the Charles St Jobcentre in Cardiff today for my fortnightly signing and arrived five minutes early. I was called a few minutes later by a young woman who was very polite and efficient. She looked at my Work Plan booklet and gave me a short list of jobs on UJM that I might consider applying for. I noticed a number of copies on her table so it was just a general handout. She also informed me that I don't have to attend in two weeks time as it would be New Years day so I don't have to sign for four weeks. I couldn't help it, I smiled at hearing the news, it was like receiving an early christmas present. She also informed me that HMRC are recruiting so I will look online and probably apply for one of the jobs. I was soon on my way home. The rain held off apart from a little drizzle but the wind was strong. At one point I was being forced sidewards and struggled to avoid stepping off the pavement. Hopefully my JSA will appear in the bank as I have to pay a couple of bills and buy food to cover me over christmas.
