Not much to report today. 06 November 2014 After seeing the BBC weather forecast suggesting it was going to be pouring with rain all day in South Wales I decided to wear my waterproof coat today for my fortnightly signing. The BBC said that they were going to do ten day weather forecasts. At the moment it seems that they can't predict one day ahead as it didn't start raining until I was nearly home and then it was only drizzling. I entered the Charles St Jobcentre in Cardiff and sat down opposite the two desks that I am usually called to. I was about five minutes early and only one of the the two desks were occupied although most of the other desks on the ground floor did have someone sitting behind them. I heard my name called just a few minutes after my signing time by a young guy at a desk at the end of the room. I walked over, sat down and he asked me the usual questions regarding looking for work. He looked at and signed my Work Plan booklet that had details of the sixteen jobs that I had applied for over the fortnight. He also looked on my UJM page. He asked me if my circumstances had changed and allowed me to sign and complete my fortnightly signing. He was very polite and efficient and I was allowed to go. It was all over in a couple of minutes compared to the hour I spent at the Jobcentre two weeks ago. I guess in total I was in the Jobcentre today not far off ten minutes. I did notice the computer monitors in the Jobcentre and people using them but I didn't notice any phones. I will have a proper look next time. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
