I waited and waited and got a little worried. 11 September 2014 I arrived at the Charles St Jobcentre in Cardiff roughly five minutes before my signing time and walked straight to the area where I usually sign. I noticed a few more security guards but no one this time even bothered to ask me why I was attending the Jobcentre. I sat down facing the two desks that I am usually called to and waited. I did hear someone behind me being told that their account was suspended although the guy said that he was disabled. I didn't hear enough of the conversation to know what it entailed. The two women who usually sit at the two desks were looking at a computer screen together so I just waited to be called. After a while the lady who signed me last time came over and asked if I was waiting to sign. I told her that I was and it appears that the other lady was supposed to sign me today but she said that she would do it today. This was roughly fifteen minutes after my signing time. I noticed a list of christmas vacancies on the desk and I was allowed to take a copy. The lady who has always been very efficient and polite every time she has seen me wanted to look at my Work Plan booklet. She looked through the questions and my answers and looked at my UJM account that I allowed access to before I left home earlier. She then picked up on a point regarding something that I said I would do. I stated that I would request feedback on the UJM jobs that I applied for. In my answer I didn't name the companies and only suggested that the information regarding the specific jobs could be seen on my UJM account. So in future, I will make sure that everything mentioned in the questions that after all I am writing them myself are fully covered in the answers I give. I did mention the problem with the red apply button being grey and not able to apply for new jobs that are put under old Job ID numbers implying that it had been applied for in the past. The lady said that she would mention it to someone at the Jobcentre as I was getting no help from using the contact button on the UJM website. I was then allowed to sign. She always does her job really well but not everyone is as decent as her. I noticed on leaving the Jobcentre that the security guards were in a group together just like they used to be. They say you can burn off quite a few calories just standing. Some of those security guards could do with another hundred hours a week of standing. I will say one good thing about those security guards, they do wear some really nice white shirts. I can't get my white shirts so shiny white. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
