I was looking through the vacancies today on UJM hoping to find something to apply for and eventually found a Despatch Operative vacancy that looked like something that I could apply for. I wrote down the details and noticed that the Job reference number was similar to one that I had applied for not so long ago. It was posted with todays date suggesting that it was a new vacancy with an old reference number. I logged out of UJM and went to my email account to send my CV. The first thing I noticed was that I had two new emails in my inbox and one of them just had "CV" as the subject. I took a chance and opened the email to find it was from the employment agency that I was just about to email regarding this job. Basically the email was informing me that I had been unsuccessful for the Despatch Operative vacancy but they would keep my details on record in case a suitable job came up. They are probably not interested in taking a chance with a person who has been unemployed a long time and I can fully appreciate that as they have to supply their clients with people they know can do the job without any training. I decided to email my CV to the agency as the UJM website did suggest it was a new job vacancy posted today and as I have my next appointment with my personal advisor at the Charles St Jobcentre on thursday I don't want to be asked why I didn't apply for this job as it clearly is a job the vast majority of people could do very easily. At least the job makes up another one of my efforts for the week. After I had sent my CV by email for this particular job I then went back into my UJM account and opened up my activity history and typed in my application details for that job. As I scrolled down through my activity history I noticed that I had applied for the Despatch Operative vacancy on 30th August. So eleven days later I received my rejection email and the same day they advertise the vacancy again.
