I went along to Charles St Jobcentre yesterday for my second Post Work Programme appointment with my personal advisor. I was given another session to attend on friday next week regarding CVs. Most of us who are long term unemployed could probably give these sessions ourselves. I was also given a direction to attend a jobsfair being held at the City Hall in Cardiff on 18th september. She did say that they were looking for a few volunteers for the jobsfair and they would have a t-shirt to wear and the volunteers would have a group photo taken and put on facebook and twitter. Thankfully it was voluntary to sign up and I only have to attend. During a brief discussion on how my jobsearch was going she did a quick look for any suitable jobs. On this occasion she accepted my paper copy of my jobsearch although I did tell her that I also record it on Universal Jobmatch. I said that it was pointless typing in on my Universal Jobmatch activity link to state that I had been on the website as I go on at least three times a day. She said that I didn't need to as she could see how many times I go on the site. I said it doesn't show that on my computer but it appears it does on hers. A bit like snooping and if it's true then they could record if they don't already how long we actually spend on the website. I have to attend on thursday for my fortnightly signing and hopefully it will go smoothly.
