I made a swift exit with my Exit Report. 20 June 2013
Today I went to Charles St Jobcentre in Cardiff for my fortnightly signing and everything went fine. I then went along to Working Links for my final appointment after two years on the Work Programme. I had a chat with the consultant and he completed an Exit report that has to be received by the Jobcentre within ten days of the participant completing the Work Programme. I asked for and received a copy of the report. This report will be used by a member of staff in the Jobcentre to decide what the best course of action should be to help me find employment. It is only two pieces of paper, both sides are used and the information is basically a list of the actions agreed over the two years and how many were completed by the customer. The word customer is on the report, I would have used the word participant.Towards the end of the actions agreed list they have a section marked as open. That means actions or activities yet to be completed. It appears that in november 2011 I was told that I would have to do a city and guilds level 1 and 2 employability course and that is the one thing I did not complete. It states that I had told them in november 2011 that I had done those courses many times over the years at BTCV when I attended a number of New Deal programmes.
Then we come to the further information part of the Exit report. This is where your consultant can give his or her opinion regarding your employability. It also states that the consultant can mention any barriers to employment such as substance dependency and any changes in attitude over the last two years. Also the level of compliance from the participant and any information the consultant feels might by useful to Jobcentre Plus that might give an insight to the participant.
At the end of the Exit report we have a box headed Next Steps. This is where the consultant can suggest what they think would most benefit the participant.
Looking at my Exit report I have to say that it is all factual. The next steps suggestion is something that I feel is probably the right one.
I started this website because I received some bad treatment from a member of the Working Links staff who is still in her job to this day and will probably have a nicely paid job and a long career although I have no confidence in her. I am ending my two years on the Work Programme with Working Links on a good note. I can agree that my Exit report is fair. It is all now down to a member of staff at the Jobcentre probably over the next three months or so to decide what to do with me.
