Not long to go now 05 May 2013
I am due in for my next appointment at Working Links on thursday after I have gone to the Jobcentre to complete my fortnightly signing. As I attend Working Links on average once a fortnight I probably have only another three or four appointments before my two years are up on the Work Programme.
I remember seeing all the leaflets of how Working Links have built up contacts with employers and helped many people back into work but after nearly two years they have not managed to do any more for me than I would expect from a local jobclub.
Looking back, attending the Work Programme offices once in a while might be the better option compared to the prospect of having to do workfare which is the most likely future that awaits me.
I did agree for the consultant at Working Links to email me links to job vacancies as I like to apply for as many jobs as possible. I always walk to Working Links but if I had taken a bus everytime they called me in over two years at £3 a go, over a two year period at an average of once a fortnight I would have cost them around £150. They should thank me with a share of it but I'm sure they won't.
