While I was waiting to be called for my fortnightly signing on thursday morning I noticed that all the people who signed before me were just sitting down and signing and didn't seem to be asked any questions. In fact none of them produced any documentation of any kind. When I was called I did produce a list of the jobs that I had applied for and it was signed and dated and no questions asked. It was the first time for ages that I had not seen a single person being questioned about their jobsearch. Maybe they had all signed up for Universal Jobmatch and the Jobcentre staff were able to see the efforts they had made on screen so didn't need to ask any questions but it was a bit of a surprise to see no one being put under any pressure. I was watching three desks before my turn came to sign and it was all very quiet apart from our names being called out. I wonder what it will be like in two weeks time.
