Why can't they be reliable?
17 January 2013

I went to Charles St Jobcentre in Cardiff this morning for my fortnightly signing and it all went smoothly. Last time I was told to register for Universal Jobmatch which I have done but no mention of it from the woman behind the desk so I guess she must have seen something on the screen to inform her that I had registered. I showed my form with my job efforts for the fortnight which she signed and dated. On monday my new personal advisor at the Jobcentre who made a few statements that were clearly intended for me to register on Universal Jobmatch stated that I would more than likely receive my next appointment to see her when I sign on thursday. I asked about my next appointment when I signed this morning but was told that I would receive it in the post. Also on monday I had an appointment at Working Links and usually I am given a letter informing me of my next appointment but on this occasion I was told that it would be sent off later that day by post. Well thursday has come and no letter from Working Links so I will phone the consultant up tomorrow if the letter doesn't arrive. These people know full well that a missed appointment can lead to a sanction and they don't even bother to perform that simple task to a professional and reliable level. I am looking forward to my appointment to see my new personal advisor at the Jobcentre because I want to ask a few questions regarding the statements she gave me in her efforts to encourage me to sign up to Universal Jobmatch. If I was in a job and told someone that I would send out a letter to them that day without fail I can guarantee I would do exactly that.
