Suits me sir.
06 November 2012
I'm due for my next appointment at Working Links later this week. Last time I mentioned to my consultant how tough things are getting at jobcentres with jobsearch. I was talking about people who are being warned about the lack of effort although my jobsearch efforts are good. The consultant was going to book me in for my next appointment for wednesday but then asked when I next signed and when I told him it was on a thursday he gave me an appointment for thursday. That was two weeks ago and while I have the feeling he wants to see my jobsearch booklet after I have signed at the jobcentre it still means I don't have to make a special trip just to go to Working Links. The jobcentre is only about five minutes walk from Working Links although I will have roughly a half hour wait for my appointment after I have signed on. It suits me and I wouldn't be against this being a regular situation if it only meant attending once a fortnight after I sign at the jobcentre. Of course if I hadn't made a comment about tougher signing requirements the consultant might not have bothered changing my appointment date so I guess I put the idea into his head. Let that be a warning to anyone who is on the work programme, only give information when asked and if you ever get too relaxed always remember they are waiting to pick up any information that can help them put pressure on you. I've applied for six jobs in the last ten days and hopefully I will find a couple more to apply for tomorrow although I only have to apply for four. Always apply for jobs and don't give anyone a chance to question your efforts.
