I turned up for my jobsearch session on tuesday morning and quite a few were in for inductions. Probably due to the previous day being a bank holiday. Of course very few new jobs were on the websites and the directgov website only had seven new jobs for Cardiff by the time I ended my hour and a quarter jobsearch. Most of those jobs were for skilled workers so it was rather pointless but at least I attended. I was told that I would be informed of my next appointment by letter and it would be within two weeks but as I don't have much trust through my previous experiences at Working Links, I will phone up on monday to check if I am expected to attend on tuesday. I was once accused of missing an appointment but I never miss appointments that I am notified of and it's important to make sure that they don't put a missed appointment on your computer record because it could be used against you in the future. It appears that they are moving a few computers down the other end of the office for jobsearch and for some unknown reason they are not able to give people a date for jobsearch. I guess it will all be fine by the weekend and we will all be doing our jobsearch as usual. In fact when I was doing my jobsearch on tuesday they had computers that were not being used. I wouldn't mind doing my jobsearch from 8am as I don't mind the 25 minute walk to the Working Links offices in the morning in all that peace and quiet. I might ask about that the next time I'm in.
