A week of freedom
14 August 2012
I turned up for my monday appointment that was to see a member of staff concerning a possible interview for a temporary vacancy. Although I don't know if I will be given an interview at least I don't have to go back to Working Links until tuesday next week for my usual jobsearch. I will still look online everyday for vacancies. I was watching last nights channel 4 dispatches programme on dole cheats and it was a bit of nonsense. Exposing some incompetent staff who are restricted on how much time they can check details was a waste of half an hour of television. They could have had people with cameras exposing a few work programme providers or exposed the harsh sanctions handed out to people. I have met some good and bad staff from jobcentre plus so I know that they are not all bad. While I was at Working Links yesterday it wasn't that busy although quite a few were waiting for individual appointments while the computers available for jobsearch were all available. I remember that during the appointment I had with a member of the Working Links staff she said it wasn't a warehouse vacancy and I quickly responded by saying that I wouldn't mind warehouse work. She then said "I will remember that". Maybe it's true, you should never offer up information in case it's used against you.
