Just keeping my head down
13 June 2012
I was at Working Links yesterday and heard one of the staff mention that he needed ten people later this week for a short course. Two of the consultants told him that they could supply him with the required number of people. As soon as I heard this discussion I did what most would do and kept my head down as I did my jobsearch. As I am due in later this week I just hope I don't end up walking into one of these courses as I have done plenty in the past. We all I feel accept that the work programme is here to stay for the next few years and as the jobs just aren't out there it really is just a case of jobsearch and going along with the odd course now and then. I suggest it is best to go along with it as fighting against the inevitable is a lost cause and will only result in loss of benefits and probably more courses than you would otherwise have to attend. It does seem a lot quieter when I attend Working Links in the mornings and probably more relaxing than in the afternoon session I do later in the week. I go along with the process and speak out when something doesn't seem right and I always make sure that I apply for plenty of jobs, in fact I have applied for five jobs in the last five days and that should keep the jobcentre happy.
