Life after Skills Wales
09 February 2012
I was attending Working Links on wednesday to do some jobsearch and I noticed a number of the group that attended the Skills Wales course were in attendance and looking at job vacancies online. My next appointment is for monday for more jobsearch that I do everyday at home anyway. The group seemed happy enough and hopefully a few of them will at least find work eventually. The office was packed with people and I heard someone say that they were holding some kind of course on CVs. At the moment I appear to be attending once or twice a week for jobsearch and as I walk the twenty five minutes to their offices each time I am saving them paying out bus fares. Maybe if I took a bus each time they might find me too expensive to call in more than once a fortnight. I don't see any positive light at the end of the tunnel and if conforming keeps them off your back then once or twice a week for an hour or so isn't too big a price to pay. Of course work experience placements where big companies use us for free labour is the biggest worry. Sadly it is probably the way things are going to go eventually and it's a big incentive to anyone who presently has a real job to keep it at all costs and look for something better while you are employed. I might have to take a gamble and put a few coppers on Zarkandar if he runs at Newbury on saturday. If he loses I might have to throw myself under a bus but then again why should I lose my life and save the government money. Let's be positive as they tell us on the Work Programme. Okay then I will, come on Zarkandar, you will WIN on saturday and then go on to WIN the champion hurdle at Cheltenham in march. Then maybe I will be able to buy a few things I need. Is that positive enough for you Working Links?
