Working Links incompetence 06 December 2011
I can't believe the low standards accepted at Working Links in Cardiff.
I was at Working Links on 22nd November and was told to turn up on Monday 28th November at 9am for a hub awareness group session. I turned up and was told that they didn't have a room for us so I ended up doing an hour of jobsearch and told to come back next monday on the 5th December for the awareness meeting. I asked the woman to put the appointment date on my attendance card, she did that and said she would see us next week. I attended Working Links on 5th December at 9am and was told that the woman was on holiday. The man who works alongside her told another member of staff that I wasn't on his list and if I had not kept on I would have ended up waiting for hours for no reason. If I had not asked the woman to put the appointment date on the attendance card I would not have had any proof that I was given that appointment. They would have just told me that I was not on their list and the woman in question was on holiday.
I ended up doing one and a half hours of jobsearch and when I asked for my next appointment date the man who works alongside the woman referred me to my previous consultant who told a member of staff that she would contact me. I again insisted on my next appointment date and eventually I was given a date for next week.
My experiences at Working Links has shown me that the standards of some of the staff are very low and this can only reflect on the management. The performance manager at Working Links clearly should look at the low standards of service from several of his staff.
