Working Links don't care 23 November 2011
I discussed my complaints with the regional manager of Working Links about two weeks ago and he said that he would get back to me within two days. Two weeks later and I'm still waiting. One of my concerns was over a letter they said they sent me informing me of an appointment which in fact I never received. I was also informed that a phone call had been made to me but I know for a fact that no such call from Working Links was made to my phone during that time. I also did not receive a message on the 1571 service that is available on my phone. I take missing post very seriously and I asked the regional manager to give me the details concerning the missing letter ie when it was sent out so that I could contact the Royal Mail and ask them to investigate as it's a criminal offence to tamper with a persons mail.
Two weeks have gone by and no response and I have noticed many people online complaining against Working Links and I'm not surprised.
I now understand that they are going back to a loose version of the New Deal and that is probably down to trying to save money. They are making things up as they go along with no regard for the wellbeing of the claimants. I attended an appointment yesterday and asked about the details of this missing letter but still no response from Working Links. I'm sure it wasn't sent in the first place and they are just trying to make sure it can't be investigated properly. It's sad that people are prepared to treat other human beings like dogs just to stay in their jobs.
The government and these contractors are trying to take away the rights of the unemployed to eventually bully people into any kind of job or voluntary work. Of course voluntary is a word that should not really be used in these circumstances as it's more a case of volunteer or face a sanction. Sad to see multi million pound companies prepared to take on these conscripts so they can obtain free labour and bigger profits. I guess at least the government will receive a share of the profits from tax revenue.
