DATA PROTECTION ACT 16 October 2011 Work Programme providers are paid for everyone who goes through their doors but the extra payments for finding people employment are reliant on verification from the dwp. It's up to the provider to obtain a signature from the unemployed individual allowing them to contact an employer if they find you a job with them. This signature is important because it will also allow the dwp to contact the employer to verify that the provider is supplying correct details or they won't be paid. The provider whether it's Working Links or any other company also requires your permission to send your CV to an employer. They will also want the right to alter your CV to make it suit the needs of the potential employer. This is something you should think very carefully about as they could send your CV to an employer without you knowing and it might be for a job you feel you would be unsuitable for but the CV has been slanted to make it look like you would be the ideal candidate. It would be very difficult to turn down any job offer without the threat of a sanction. You could insist on being informed before your CV is sent to an employer. Always have control over your CV and if they change it make sure you are given a copy. It is probably a good idea to ask for a photocopy of all forms that you sign. I have seen members of staff at a number of companies in the past adding details to an already signed document so a photocopy of the one you signed would be a good way of covering yourself in case that happens.
